We are proud of our C&G colleagues achieving great scores in the REF2021! The C&G SRA was featured in 3 Units of Assessment: C17 Business and Management, C18 Law and C20 Social Work and Social Policy.
The Business School submission saw 75% of the outputs rated as internationally excellent (3*) or world-leading (4*) by the panel. 92% of the OUBS impact cases were assessed at the level of 3 or 4 star. The average score (GPA) in each of the three assessed categories (outputs, impact, research environment) is higher than 3 star and the rank of our research environment places the Business School at the top third of the sector.
The first submission of the OU Law School into the REF exercise is a huge achievement and shows the success that has been achieved in developing a vibrant research culture. The results have some particular strengths; one-third of the outputs are considered as internationally excellent (3*) or world-leading (4*). Two-thirds of the impact cases were rated as internationally excellent.
Over three quarters of C20 research was rated ‘world leading’ and ‘internationally excellent’. We were ranked 5th for Research Power and in the top tercile (ranked 24th out of 76) overall. 80% of C20 impact was rated as ‘world-leading’ 4*. 100% of C20 research environment was rated 4/3*. We were ranked in top-fifth nationally for research impact and research environment.
Well done to all involved!
