This is the second workshop of the newly established IKD Gender and Social Policy Research Theme-Network which follows a brilliant launch event of the gender and social policy research theme- network back in May. It is an interdisciplinary platform that connects various academics who study gender in different topics and from different discipline at the OU.

Bio: Prof Xiangming Chen served as the founding Director of the Center for Urban and Global Studies at Trinity College from 2007 to 2019 and is currently Paul Raether Distinguished Professor of Global Urban Studies and Sociology at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the School of Social Development and Public Policy at Fudan University in Shanghai and the Graduate School of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, China. He has published extensively on globalization, cities, and economic development.
