Towards Inclusive Innovation, Asian Drivers, Global Value Chains and the Role of Commodities: Celebrating Raphael Kaplinsky’s Research

Thu, 18 June 2015, 12:30 to 18:30

The Open University, 1-11 Hawley Crescent, Camden Town, London NW1 8NP

IKD and DPP are delighted to host a workshop celebrating the more than forty years Professor Kaplinsky has been researching the economics of innovation, globalisation and development. During this time his research has ranged from globalisation and the international automobile sector to appropriate technology and the impact of China on global commodity prices, while his current focus is on inclusive innovation, Global Value Chains, the resource sector and on China and India as a source of pro-poor innovation.

Many of Professor Kaplinsky’s talented and passionate colleagues and friends will be attending the event, whose main function is to bring together a community to discuss, on an informal basis, the leading issues now driving these fields and to identify the research gaps which have emerged.
