Deconstructing Green Innovation: Implications for Policy and Practice

Fri, 20 January 2017, 09:30 to 15:30

Michael Young Building, OU, Milton Keynes

Academics, students and practitioners are invited to attend the final seminar in the ESRC-funded Green Innovation: Making it Work series. A combination of invited presentations, plenary and small group discussions will offer participants the opportunity to review topics addressed at previous events, identify common themes and discuss the implications for policy-makers and practitioners.

Although the main focus of the series has been on developed countries, efforts were made to include developing-economy examples and it is hoped to build these into any follow-on projects – including an edited book.

Speakers include:

  • Disruptive Low-Carbon Innovations: Charlie Wilson (Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, UEA)
  • Smart Cities – Developing Public-Private-People Partnerships: Lorraine Hudson (Hudson Sustainability Consulting and OU)
  • An Overview of the Series – Key Themes and Insights: Andrea Westall (OU).

Green Innovation: Making it Work was an ESRC-funded seminar series led by Professor David J Smith (Nottingham Business School), Dr Richard Blundel (OUBS) and Professor Robert Ackrill (Nottingham Business School). Established to bring together academics and practitioners interested in pro-environmental innovation with a focus on the factors that facilitate and constrain its practical application, it has helped to promote a deeper understanding of the institutional and infrastructural changes required in both developed and developing country contexts.

Although the seminar is free, numbers are limited. To reserve your place, please email Tracey Moore
