Ben Lampert is interviewed on Arise TV about his new book on the role of Chinese migrants in Africa's development, which reviews have hailed as overcoming previous reductionist narratives. Discussion centres on the impact of increased Chinese migration and the wider context of China's heightened engagement with Africa. Chinese Migrants and Africa's Development is published by Zed and was co-authored by Ben with OU colleagues Giles Mohan and Daphne Chang, and May Tan-Mullins from the University of Nottingham, Ningbo.
