Explore new Disability History and Autism Awareness Library resources

The Library has added a wealth of new book titles to its Exploring Equality and Diversity resource lists, in support of the OU's commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).

The Disability History list features a collection of resources that explore the needs and experiences of people with disabilities, covering topics such as education, historical attitudes, and activism. Some new titles include:

• Disability services in higher education: an insider’s guide by Kirsten Behling, Eileen Bellemore, Lisa Bibeau and Bridget McNamee
• The architecture of disability: buildings, cities, and landscapes beyond access by David Gissen
• Disability pride: dispatches from a post-ADA world by Ben Mattlin

The Autism Awareness list contains resources that discuss the experiences of autistic people and their families, covering autism in the context of technology, education, language and literature, and health. Titles new to the collection include:

• Divergent mind: thriving in a world that wasn't designed for you by Jenara Nerenberg
• Different, not less: a neurodivergent's guide to embracing your true self and finding your happily ever after by Chloé Hayden
