New Library collection for LGBT+ History Month 2025

We've added a new collection to our LGBTQ+ resource list – a list of resources that looks at the history, activism, and identities of the people who are proud to be who they are today. The new collection features titles relevant to LGBTQ+ topics and key historical figures that have been selected by LGBT+ History Month for 2025, with examples including:

• 'Nobler imaginings and mightier struggles' : Octavia Hill, social activism and the remaking of British society
• The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano : Written by Himself
• Annie Kenney and the Politics of Class in the Women’s Social and Political Union
• Queer: a Graphic History
• Travels in a Gay Nation : Portraits of LGBTQ Americans

The theme for this year's LGBT+ History Month is: 'Activism and Social Change'. We encourage you to explore the new LGBTQ+ History Library resource collection and share it amongst the OU community so that we can all learn more about LGBT+ peoples’ lived experiences. You can also contribute to this list by suggesting a resource or by giving feedback.
