We are excited to congratulate Matt Balme as he becomes a Professor of Planetary Geoscience with immediate effect.
This reflects his excellent portfolio of research and the associated international impact of his work. In addition Matt has shared his knowledge and enthusiasm for planetary (geo)science with undergraduate students and postgraduate researchers to great effect. He has studied the surfaces of planets for over 20 years, and for more than 15 years has focused on Mars. Matt leads the Planetary Environments Research Group. He is a member of the ExoMars PanCam (a multispectral stereo camera) team, and works with the European Space Agency to help determine how the ExoMars Rover will operate on the surface.
Please join us in sending him our warmest congratulations on this wonderful news.
Congratulations Professor Balme!
