Concert for Hope: UK Welcomes Refugees

UK Welcomes Refugees is a UK-based charity. The charity promotes refugee resettlement and community sponsorships.

In March 2021 the charity organised an event to showcase the talent, richness and resilience of refugees. The event was co-hosted by Ahmad al-Rashid, a researcher of the Covid-19 Chronicles Project.

”Concert for Hope” was originally planned to take place at a venue in London but due to Covid-19 this was not possible. The event was instead live-streamed online and was attended by hundreds of people world-wide.

The main objectives of the event concert were to promote refugee community sponsorship in the UK and celebrate the talents of Syrian musicians, many of whom have been impacted by Covid-19.
