Centre for Scholarship and Innovation
Following last year’s successful conference in Edinburgh, Horizons in STEM HE Conference is back!
The conference committee welcomes submissions that fall within either the following broad pedagogic/innovation themes or discipline areas. The intention is to provide opportunities for two different types of conversation, where teaching innovation and pedagogy might be shared with all STEM colleagues, or where more subject specific discussions might ensue. In either case the conference is all about making connections.
The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 19 March 2018.
Please see the https://ukstemconference.wordpress.com/welcome/call-for-papers/ document for more details of the call, including the abstract submission form.
Conference Formats:
We invite you to submit abstracts for posters, oral presentations and workshops; we also invite expressions of interest to submit a full paper based on your presentation for publication in a journal special issue after the conference (see above link for detailed guidance). We are particularly interested to receive student-led submissions.
Please complete the abstract submission form, identifying what type of presentation you are interested in delivering and whether your work fits in the pedagogic/innovation themes of the conference which may be of interest to all STEM colleagues or whether it is subject specific of interest to a discipline-based audience.
Save your submission as a PDF and upload to Easychair by the deadline of 19 March 2018. We are looking forward to reading your submissions.
Conference themes:
The themes should be interpreted broadly, as they are not intended to limit potential contributions. When submitting proposals, delegates will be asked to nominate the theme to which they feel their work best relates (themes in full).
Illustrative examples of areas of practice within the themes are provided for information only.
