In this session, we will focus on how to successfully conduct interviews and run focus groups as methods for carrying out research into STEM teaching and learning. We will provide an overview of these methods; constructing appropriate questions; the practicalities of employing them in an OU context; benefits and disadvantages; and an introduction to analysing the data collected.
After attending the session, participants will gain an understanding of:

Trevor Collins is a Senior Research Fellow in KMi and Director of eSTEeM. He has an extensive background in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
