Centre for Scholarship and Innovation
A Data Management Plan (DMP) is a project document which describes the data (or similar evidence) that a project will collect, how it will be stored during the project, how it will be archived at the end of the project and how access will be granted (where appropriate). A DMP is primarily a requirement for externally funded research with funders now requiring that the research data produced as a result of publicly-funded research are openly available.
However, whether you are required by a funder to write a DMP or not, the University recommends anyone conducting a research project to engage with this process in order to think through, and plan for, all of the data management issues you will encounter.
This session will give an opportunity to consider what data you will be generating in your scholarship project and will give you practical advice on how to manage and share the data you are creating.
