The Open University is pleased to support Glasgow Life's event 'Douglas Stuart in conversation with Louise Welsh'.
Douglas Stuart’s debut novel 'Shuggie Bain' announced a striking new voice in Scottish fiction: tender but unflinching, funny and emotive. It spoke to readers around the world and won him the 2020 Booker Prize.
Douglas' follow-up novel is the gripping and revealing story 'Young Mungo'.
We are delighted to support this event with the author in conversation with OU honorary graduate Louise Welsh. This special event takes place at the Mitchell Library in Douglas' home city of Glasgow, on the day of publication of 'Young Mungo'. Douglas will be signing copies after the event.
For tickets (£11) and more information please go to the Glasgow Life website.
(Please note this event is now SOLD-OUT).
There's a wide range of free online learning on the OU’s site OpenLearn, including the short courses Writing what you know, Start writing fiction, and the OpenLearn Scotland Hub of resources on our nation's history, society and culture.
The OU also offers creative writing courses and qualifications, such as the modules Creative Writing and Advanced Creative Writing, a BA (Honours) English Literature and Creative Writing, and an MA in Creative Writing.
