Scholarship Seminar - Service teaching in statistics - embracing the differences

Abstract:

Statistics modules, not just at level 1, are taken by a wide variety of students on multiple qualifications. This talk will outline the size of the service teaching provision provided by statistics and focus on various ways in which we have tried to provide tailored support to students on M248. One method has been to focus some tutorials towards individual qualifications. 

Evaluation has shown that this approach has produced a level of social interaction and peer support amongst students.
