HOBAR members are highly research active, and the group promotes the publications of its members through book launches and via social media. There are over 340 publications ascribed to HOBAR members in The Open University’s Open Research Online (ORO) repository. Recent publications include books by Francesca Benatti (on webcomics), Richard Danson Brown (on Spenser), Sara Haslam (on Waugh), Richard J Jones (on Smollett), Shafquat Towheed (on bookshelves) and Nicola J Watson (on authors houses).
HOBAR Director Towheed also co-edits a series, New Directions in Book History, for Palgrave Macmillan, which was launched in 2014. There are now 44 titles in the series, and many HOBAR members have published in this series, such as Helen Chambers (on Conrad), Caroline Davis and David Johnson (on the book in Africa), Suman Gupta (on consumable texts in India), and Edmund G.C. King and Shafquat Towheed (on reading and the First World War). Cumulative sales and downloads for the series have now exceeded 194,000 copies. Feel free to get in touch with Shafquat Towheed if you have future publication plans.
