What can I study?

For more details on the Open University's qualifications towards which collaborative credit can count, please see https://www.open.ac.uk/courses

You can study the following subjects in our collaborative schemes (the tables below specify which courses from these institutions are collaborative ones):

Although many UK universities may teach these subjects, you will qualify for collaborative credit only if you successfully pass modules which are approved as part of our collaborative schemes.

Please note that this website shows all the OU's current approved collaborative modules. If you wish to study a collaborative module, please contact the relevant teaching institution to check whether the particular module will be offered when you wish to study it.

What collaborative modules are offered where?

The list below details the modules offered within the collaborative scheme, showing the OU module codes, CATS points and levels.

All the collaborative modules below can count towards:

  • the OU BA/BSc Open degree, qualification code QD
  • towards the free choice element of named degrees (not all named degrees allow free choice)
  • some can also count towards particular named degrees as indicated in the tables below


Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB)

The following CPCAB courses can count towards the Foundation Degree (X09) and the Dip HE (W09) in Counselling (if completed in the last 16 years):
