Job share and flexible working patterns will be considered.

It is anticipated that a hybrid working pattern can be adopted for this role, where the successful candidate can work from home and the office. It is expected that some attendance in the Milton Keynes office will be required when necessary and in response to business needs.

Full time starting salary is £57,696 to £59,421 per annum, with potential progression when in post to £64,914 per annum.

Internal candidates already within the salary banding will remain on their current spinal point as per policy.

The role  

At The Open University, we are extremely proud to be a leading provider of Degree Apprenticeships. We have more than 3,000 apprentices and we work with over 300 employer partners. We are advertising an exciting opportunity to join our School of Health, Wellbeing and Social Care to work in a new role as Apprenticeship Lead. The role will have overall responsibility for ensuring the University's apprenticeship provision is of the highest quality, and compliant with regulatory requirements as set out by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IFATE), Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), Ofsted, Office for Students, and other relevant internal and external regulatory frameworks.

Skills and experience

  • An honours degree or postgraduate degree in a related discipline
  • A PhD or professional qualification and significant relevant professional experience at a senior level e.g. current NMC registration.
  • HE teaching qualification or commitment to complete one
  • Up-to-date knowledge of apprenticeships in a higher education setting and the Ofsted Inspection regime
  • Experience of leading and motivating teams to deliver high performance and achieve high quality provision
