Learn how to find specific resources and how to find information on a topic using Library Search.
Congratulations to Alison Brock, E-Content Adviser in Library Services, who just published a fresh look at measuring the impact of Library resources. Her case study, Developing a reusable methodology to conduct a review of library resources, was published in the open access and peer reviewed journal UKSG Insights.
The article came out of the work the Library’s Content and Licensing (CLIP) team performed on the Aligning Library Content and Delivery (ALCD) project in 2018. The methodology CLIP developed for the project not only provided insight for the OU Library, but looked to be something other libraries might find useful when carrying out reviews of their resources. Alison first presented this research at the 13th International Conference on Performance Measurement in Libraries in 2019 and was asked by members of the conference to submit it as an article to UKSG Insights to further share her findings.
Alison's leading edge methodology has already garnered interest and has led to invitations to consult on implementing it at other university libraries. The team's objectives now are to continue to further embed the methodology here at the OU Library and use it to inform our acquisition and renewal policies for subscription content.
Stay tuned for more innovations from Library Services!
