Libraries NI has announced that The Open University will run a new series of information events in libraries across Northern Ireland during September 2019.
Now is the perfect time to go for that promotion, get that pay rise or explore a passion and Open University (OU) study can help people achieve all of this and more.
Come along and speak to one of the OU’s tutors who will be visiting the libraries listed below to explain what it’s like to study and how the courses can fit around work and other commitments. They can also talk about how funding works and the different qualifications on offer.
No appointment is necessary so anyone can pop along to find out why studying with the OU could be the best decision they ever make.
Jim O’Hagan, Chief Executive at Libraries NI, commented:
“Libraries have always played a role in promoting lifelong learning and helping people to reach their full potential. Libraries NI continues to work with The Open University to encourage people to explore courses and flexible studying options and also to make use of the resources available in local libraries. I would encourage anyone who is interested to come along to an information event and find out about the wide range of options on offer.”
John D’Arcy, National Director of The Open University said:
“Working with Libraries NI is a great opportunity for The Open University to promote our courses to citizens across Northern Ireland.
“The Open University specialises in giving people the opportunity to study towards a higher level qualification in a way that fits around their job, family, caring commitments and also where they live. People don’t need to travel to a campus university as students can access learning resources anytime and anywhere that suits them.
Our work with local libraries across Northern Ireland allows us to highlight this advantage of part-time study to people in local areas.
I would urge anyone with an interest in undertaking a qualification with The Open University, at a time and pace that suits them, to come along to speak to one of our tutors at any of our library events.”
