eSTEeM continues its seminar series with presentations from project teams. January's seminar will explore the methodology and findings of the following two eSTEeM projects.
The aims of this research project were to better understand which strategies best support students to engage with online collaborative projects; better understand which strategies best support tutors to support students and produce tips, guidelines, training materials and resources to support tutors to help concerns before and during the activity with a view to optimising learning for students. In this presentation I will describe what the project was about, how I carried out the project and what the findings and impact were.
This seminar will present the results of our eSTEeM project ‘An investigation into the breadth of learning objectives and skills developed in OpenSTEM Labs experiments‘ which developed a classification scheme for online laboratories and investigated their associated learning objectives. The talk will also suggest how module teams can plan the learning objectives for new online experiments.
This seminar is open to all OU staff. Please visit the registration form by Friday 13th January to book your place.
