13th February 2025
eSTEeM was delighted to welcome colleagues from across the OU to the launch of the inaugural eSTEeM Annual Conference Proceedings on the 10th February 2025.
The OU enjoys a rich history of impactful practitioner-led, evidence informed Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), which is further evidenced by this collection of 10 short papers by STEM staff and students. The publication also includes a foreword by Interim Vice-Chancellor, Josie Fraser, and a reflective article by STEM Executive Dean, Nicholas Braithwaite, which focuses on the importance and many benefits of practitioner-led scholarship for the STEM Faculty.
The range of topics and breadth of work Illustrates the commitment to enhancing students’ learning experiences and advancing pedagogy. From Black student experience and closing the awarding gap, to reducing the anxiety of students sitting online exams, and the benefits of participating in practical science experiments and how such engagement can enhance students' employability, there is something for everyone in these proceedings.
A huge congratulations to all authors and many thanks to the peer-reviewers.
