The Open University is delighted to be hosting a range of activities as part of the Glasgow Science Festival 2024.

Find the Glasgow Science Festival team in the centre hall at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, with a wide range of free activities for all ages, linked to the collections and the festival's theme 'Glasgow’s Transforming', as well as a facinating discussion panel, featuring two art historians and a film-maker.

Staff and students from The Open University will be on hand, offering opportunities for you to take part in a pedal-powered cinema, designing your own alien, building wind turbines, and delve into the music of Glasgow.

All of these events are free and no booking is required. There is more information about all of these on the Glasgow Science Festival website, or you can click on the individual event links below.

Interactive events at Kelvingrove:
Saturday 15 June 1.30-4.30pm, Sunday 16 June 12.00-3.00pm

Beyond the Kelvingrove:
Friday 14 June 6.00-6.45pm

Transforming Landscapes in Film and Art - Join OU art historians, Carla Benzan and Sam Shaw, along with local environmental filmmaker, Libby Penman, as they discuss historical documentary making and the links between art-lovers and environmentalists. Book your place for this free event through the Glasgow Science Festival website.

We also have content in the Glasgow Science Festival's 'Science on the Sofa' programme - a range of activities, talks, and experiments you can participate in all from the comfort of your own sofa! The free online programme will be available 1-30 June for you to browse at your leisure.
