The Open University in Scotland is delighted to support Irvine Welsh and Louise Welsh, chaired by Stephen Jardine at Bloody Scotland 2024.
These two outstanding novelists, amongst the best of their generation, share more than a surname. They are both fearless, innovative writers with the priceless ability to create remarkable characters that live long in the memory.
Irvine’s new novel Resolution sees the return of maverick investigator Ray Lennox, the troubled anti-hero of his TV adapted series Crime. Lennox has moved to Brighton, but his dark past has followed him.
OU Honorary Graduate Louise’s hugely entertaining new book, To The Dogs, takes a headlong dive into Glasgow’s criminal underbelly as a good man’s moral compass spins out of control as his past also looms large.
Crime in the Spotlight 2024 author, Jack O’Donnell, will be reading from his book Beastie at this event.
Tickets are £12 (£11 concession), available from the Bloody Scotland website. This event is also available to watch online for £5.
You can try Creative Writing course content for free, on the OU site OpenLearn, such as Start writing fiction.
The OU offers the modules Creative Writing and Advanced Creative Writing, a BA (Honours) English Literature and Creative Writing, and an MA in Creative Writing.
