The Open University is proud to sponsor Andrew O’Hagan: How the Mighty Have Fallen, in conversation with Andrew Marr at the Edinburgh International Book Festival 2024.

A celebrated London professor falls from grace in Andrew O’Hagan’s new novel, Caledonian Road. Immersive and Dickensian in ambition, it’s a brilliant state-of-the-nation novel about privilege and what’s really going on behind high society’s façade.

As we’ve come to expect from the three-time Booker-nominated Mayflies author, O’Hagan tackles his material head on, writing with honesty, empathy, and breath taking insight.

Hear him in conversation with broadcaster and journalist Andrew Marr.

Tickets available via the Edinburgh Book Festival website. Booking options include watching in-person (now sold out) or a 'pay what you can' option to watch online.

There is a wide range of free learning resources about creative writing on the OU's free learning site OpenLearn. The OU also offers creative writing courses and qualifications, including Advanced Creative Writing, a BA (Honours) English Literature and Creative Writing, and an MA in Creative Writing.
