Get involved

The Graduate School is always in need of a range of individuals who are keen to help out with events on and off campus.

We've set up a Graduate School Volunteer Pool that we can call on for things like focus groups, events and representation both internally and externally. If you're interested in contributing to the research community as well as gaining skills and experience for your CV, please let us know.

Get involved with University committees and groups

You can also get involved by being a representative for other PGRs on University committees and groups:

  • The PGR-GS liaison group A group of PGRs from across the University meet with the Graduate School Director and other staff to raise issues that affect groups of other PGRs.
  • University Committees PGRs are asked to volunteer for roles on Research Committee, Research Degrees Committee, Human Research Ethics Committee and Postgraduate Concordat Steering Group. Please consider applying for these roles – it is really important that the research student voice is represented in committee discussions.  To find out more and to apply, please Browse Opportunities (OU Students websites). To discuss these roles in more detail, please let us know
