The Poetry Research

This research examines the use made of Greek and Latin material in late 20^th and early 21^st century poetry in English. It is based on a series of case studies of selected major poets. The material for each poet identifies the extent and typology of classical allusions, excerpting and close and free translations embedded in poetry in English. 

The poetry research was supported by a British Academy Research Grant.
