OU students and alumni are as diverse and unique as the OU.
Most already have the workplace skills and experience that straight-from-school graduates don't yet have. These include commercial awareness, digital skills, team-working, remote collaboration experience and customer knowledge.
Over 75% of our students are currently in full-time, part-time work or volunteering. By having to balance OU study with life commitments, OU students also show excellent resilience, self-motivation and time management skills.
The majority of our students are of working age, with a large proportion aged between 25 and 44.
OU students and graduates are local and global
While the majority of our students and graduates are based in England, we have students in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and internationally.
