Version1 site visit for OU students

On Wednesday 18 July, Version1 hosted their first site visit for Open University (OU) students who are studying Computing and IT.

Dr Clyde Hutchinson, from Dublin, was highly commended in the Alumni of the Year category at The Open University Business School Awards 2018 annual awards ceremony in Milton Keynes last week.

The Open University (OU) celebrated three accolades at the 2018 Royal College of Nursing NI ‘Nurse of the Year Awards’, at a ceremony held on 7 June at the Culloden Hotel.

Maggie Bates, 37, from Bangor, graduated with a Master’s degree in Education from The Open University (OU) on Friday 20th April in Croke Park.

From pulling pints to cracking code

A father of two young children Paddy McCall, 37 from Dungannon, decided to start studying for a degree in Computing and IT with The Open University  during 2015, with the goal of transitioning from working in retail to a career in software development.  He met the Vice-Chancellor, Peter Horrocks recently, in the Belfast office.

OU hosts panel discussion on Languages of Ulster

On 22 November, The Open University in Ireland hosted a discussion event on the recent BBC/OU co-production Languages of Ulster. The three-part documentary series, explored Ulster’s unique linguistic traditions – Irish Gaelic, northern Hiberno English and Ulster-Scots – and the relationship between them.
