Lunchtime sessions

Please use the session attendance sign up page if you intend to play. This is so we can tell whether we have enough people for a game.

The register page updates automatically for every session and allows us to see if we have enough bodies available to run each session. If there are less than 5 players registered we may have to cancel, so please don't hesitate to be the first person on the list!

• Training session: Tuesday 12.30 - 13.30

  
  
  Tuesday sessions are open to all. In the summer months we usually spend some time developing our touch rugby skills and knowledge, followed by a short game. This is an excellent opportunity to come along to learn about Touch if you are new as we will go through the basics before moving into a relaxed game situation. We are often joined by John Kearsley, the organiser of Bedford Touch who is a qualified coach.

  Thursday sessions are our chance to have fun and use the whole session for a game between whoever turns up - all welcome! No experience needed.

Useful information

Location: Summer sessions are played on the cricket outfield near the OU pavilion. Games are played by kind permission of the OU Estates team. The exact bit of grass changes but we're always in sight of the Pavilion (changing rooms and showers available).

Footwear: Because we play in a shared space, players must not wear football studs or blades. We use a different part of the field in autumn and winter where studs are allowed for safety.

Ground conditions: The OU decides whether the playing surface can be used on a per-session basis. Alan will email everyone if the session is cancelled. You can check whether a session is likely to be cancelled by in the Latest News on the main OU Club page.

Time changes: The cricket 6-a-side competition usually runs through May to June. During this time Touch sessions can vary, but the sign-up page will still say 12.30. Look out for announcements by email, ensure you are on the list by contacting Alan Carter.
