Couple Relationships in the 21st Century
Mumsnet gave our study a mention on Twitter and Facebook three days ago and suddenly we had another boost to the questionnaire responses. 3226 men and women have now completed the questionnaire in the first 6 weeks. Thank you.
We don't have any results yet but let me highlight some interesting findings from the Millenium Cohort Study. In their representative sample, two in three parents who strongly agreed with the statement "I suspect we are on the brink of separation" were still together with their partners 2 years later. The gender gap was quite startling here. In cases where the mother strongly agreed with the statement on separation, the majority of fathers disagreed or strongly disagreed. I wonder how our data will compare on gender differences.
If you haven't yet filled out the Enduring Love? questionnaire, please do. The larger the sample, the more we will be able to say about couple relationships in the 21st century.
This is my fifth blog. Thanks in advance for all your comments and suggestions. Martina.Klett-Davies@open.ac.uk
