Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Some PDF tags are missing which will make them difficult to read and navigate with a screen reader. This fails WCAG 2.2 Success Criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A), Criterion 2.4.1 Bypass Blocks (Level A), Criterion 2.4.2 Page Titled (Level A), and Criterion 2.4.5 Multiple Ways (Level AA) and Criterion 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (Level A) and will be resolved by the end of October 2024.
Heading levels refer to the hierarchical structure of headings used in web content to organize and navigate information effectively. Some of our headings may be incorrectly tagged and ordered. This fails WCAG 2.2 Success Criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A) and will be resolved by the end of October 2024.
Some buttons and boxes have low contrast between text and background making them difficult for some users to clearly distinguish and read the text. This fails WCAG 2.2 Success Criterion 1.4.3 Contrast (Level AA) and will be resolved by the end of October 2024.

The OU is very experienced in meeting accessibility needs for our students. In many cases we are able to provide module and other study support materials in alternative formats for students who indicate a need for this when completing a Disability Support Form.
In addition, some module materials are available in different formats and can be downloaded from module websites. Students can contact their Student Support Team for advice.
