The Electronics and BioEngineering Group research is geared towards using technology for improving quality of life, creating a sustainable future and impacting society. The research spans a diversity of areas and is divided into broad themes: telecommunications, nanoelectronics and microsystems, bioelectronics and bio-inspired technologies. We work closely with colleagues from various groups and international partners to develop innovative solutions to the challenges facing the world today.

Our research interests include:

  • Design and development of spintronic nanodevices for non-volatile memory/logic and sensor applications.
  • Nanodevices for bio-inspired electronics
  • DNA biosensors for healthcare applications
  • Diabetes technology/micro-biosensors and management
  • Diagnostics and personalised medicine technology and applications
  • Telecommunications and signal processing
