What this lab helps me to achieve
- measure ultraviolet/visible absorption spectrum of liquid and some solid samples
- separate components of a liquid sample based on polarity, size and charge and identify by mass spectroscopy
- analyse organic compounds
- determine chemical bonds present in your sample by infra-red spectroscopy
- identify organic gas present in your sample
- identify, separate and quantify components in a volatile liquid sample by gas chromatography (GC) and mass spectroscopy (MS)
- quantify fluorescence in your sample
- determine the temperature at which your material undergo phase changes
- determine organic volatile compounds in your sample SIFT/Mass spectrometry
