Mental Health Declaration by Black Students - task & finish group findings

In September 2020 the Open University established a task & finish group under the Access & Participation Plan (APP) to explore the gap in mental health declaration rates by Black students (compared to White students).

This online seminar, held on Monday 13 December, presented feedback and findings from this group to the sector and included the following:

  • Hearing about scholarship with OU students and staff
  • Learning from desk research on best practice from across the sector
  • Understanding how policies and procedures impact the success of students
  • Looking at new resources created to support students and staff
  • Learning from the group's experience of setting data baselines
