The ‘Digital & Online Violence UK-SK’ project is being funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) through its UK and South Korea connections call. The 18-month project aims to explore the multi-jurisdictional nature of digital and online violence across the UK and South Korea by examining legal responses in different legal jurisdictions.
This project is funded by the British and Irish Law, Education and Technology Association. The aim of the seminar series is to bring together UK-based and international scholars, practitioners, and civil society members working on issues surrounding social media regulation and gender-based online abuse (including online violence against women). The seminars are designed to explore comparative perspectives on these contemporary topics, especially the experiences in Latin America, Asia, and Africa, which are not dominant voices. The seminar series is designed to bring together a diverse body of speakers from diverse jurisdictional areas and regions to explore a contemporary IT challenge.
