Couples Living Apart Together

About 10% of adults in Britain today are in a relationship but not living with their partner. On 26 May 2013, Jacqui Gabb was invited to respond to findings of an ESRC-funded research project on the phenomenon of "living apart together" (LAT).

At the project launch event in London, research findings were presented by the LAT project team. Jacqui spoke engaged with key themes in these findings and presented data from the Enduring Love? project. She also discussed ideas for cross-project collaboration.

The Secret of a Long-term Marriage

On 26 May 2013 Jacqui Gabb was invited to speak on BBC Radio 4's Women's Hour on how couples are sustaining long-term relationships.

In the broadcast Jacqui explored why friendship is critical in long-term relationships and how the idea of love is transfomed in these relationships. Jacqui also addressed the cultural and personal expectations surrounding sex and intimacy and the importance of finding ways to work through the stressors and bad times together.

OnePlusOne has circulated information about the Enduring Love? Questionnaire through their ‘do it yourself’ relationship support service on the couple connection website. This support was another boost to the questionnaire responses and we now have close to 4,000 men and women who have completed the questionnaire! Thank you if you are one of them.
