Dr Jacqueline Baxter

Dr Jacqueline Baxter is Associate Professor of Public Policy and Management at the Open University Business school and is Director of the Centre for Innovation in Business and Legal Education.

She is chair on the MBA programme and her research interests lie in the area of education policy and management. Her most recent book looks at the relationship between trust and accountability and how the interplay between them affects learning outcomes in education.

Dr Katharine Jewitt

Dr Katharine Jewitt is a Research Fellow and Educational Technology Consultant at The Open University. Katharine works across four faculties (Faculty of Wellbeing, Education & Language Studies, Faculty for Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics, Faculty of Business and Law and The Centre for Inclusion and Collaborative Partnership) and teaches at access, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Dr Stefanie Sinclair

Dr Stefanie Sinclair is a Senior Lecturer in Religious Studies at The Open University, with a special research interest in religion and identity (gender and national identity in particular) and education. She is the Chair of The Open University’s Scholarship Steering Group and Director of FASSTEST, the Centre for Scholarship and Innovation at the OU’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, supporting the critical, scholarly inquiry into teaching and learning in higher education. She is also the Teaching and Learning representative on the Executive Committee of the British Association for the Study of Religion and governor at a local high school.

Dr Stephen M Rayner

Dr Stephen Rayner's current role is Director of Teaching and Learning (Operations) in the Manchester Institute of Education.

Dr Rayner has experience as a teacher, senior leader and education adviser, working in and with schools in the West Midlands. He has been a governor of eight schools over a period of more than 30 years. In July 2017, he completed a professional doctorate at the University of Manchester and was appointed to a part-time post as Lecturer in Educational Leadership and Programme Director of the MA Education (Teach First Leadership) programme. The title of his doctoral project was Academisation: A dynamic process of systemic change in England. He presented his thesis in Journal Format and four of the chapters have been published.

Dr Kris Stutchbury is a Senior Lecturer in Teacher Education in the Faculty of Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies, and Academic Director for the multi award-winning Teacher Education in sub-Saharan Africa (TESSA) programme – the largest established teacher education network in Africa.

Tom Kaye, Project Advisor

Tom Kaye has more than 10 years’ experience developing, implementing and evaluating education programs in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

Tom consults with EdTech Hub and the World Bank. With EdTech Hub, Tom researches and provides guidance on how to use technology to make education systems more effective, efficient and equitable. With the World Bank, Tom is leading the design of a project aimed at delivering blended professional development to Somalian teachers.

In addition to his consulting, Tom is a Ph.D. candidate at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Tom’s research focuses on technology can enhance learning in developing countries.

Wendy Hull

Wendy Hull a Department Secretary in the Faculty of Business and Law. Wendy worked in education for over 12 years prior to returning to the commercial sector 2 years ago as a PA. She joined the OU in April 2020 as a PA to the Head of the Department for Public Leadership and Social Enterprise. Wendy supports the CVSL team as well as the PuLSE academics and as Secretary on the Covid-19 project.
