An OU team from Learner and Discovery Services were nominated as finalists in this year’s Green Gown Awards and subsequently awarded ‘highly commended’ in their category.
The team were entered for their work on developing sustainability resources that support university colleagues in their module design. You can find out more about their work in this short 3-minute video.
The University was delighted to learn that the team were awarded ‘highly commended’ in the staff sustainability champion category at the award ceremony on 29 November in Liverpool. Well done team!
Commenting on the award, Vice-Chancellor of The Open University, Professor Tim Blackman said, “I’m delighted that our Learning Designers have, through independent consultation and listening to student voices, developed sustainability resources supporting the university to embed sustainability in our formal, informal, and subliminal curriculum. This award recognises the great initiative of our colleagues, inspiring us all to make sustainability integral to our roles.”
