Do you love pottering about in the garden – do you love flowers – do you want to “grow your own” vegetables – do you have an allotment but don’t know where to start?
The Open University Gardening Club meets regularly, usually on the first Thursday of each month at 12.30pm on the OU Campus and via Teams meetings. Club members share a common interest in gardens, but our levels of expertise and knowledge are very varied. If you are a beginner who is looking for support and advice then we may be just what you need. Of course, if you are an experienced gardener, you may be just what WE need! Our activities include regular speakers, demonstrations, occasional garden visits, a yearly plant sale and a Christmas social.
We are also affiliated members of the Royal Horticultural Society and included in our Subscription we are entitled to one group visit per year for up to 55 members to one of the four RHS Gardens. Members also get 30% off entrance to any of these 4 RHS gardens individually for themselves and one non-member. The Club also receives a copy of the RHS magazine–each month. If you are interested and would like to know more about the Club and its activities, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
Our annual Plant Sale takes place in May each year so if you have anywhere to display posters on campus, please contact us for details and let those around you know when and where it is taking place.
