Filipe Mate is an assistant researcher and teacher based in CAP. He has worked at Eduardo Mondlane University since 2013 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the EMU in 2012. In 2017 he attended a postgraduate diploma programme run by the United Nations University Gender Equality and Studies Programme (UNU-GEST), hosted at the University of Iceland. From 2013, Filipe has worked alongside Professor Raimundo on understanding the dynamics of students coming from São Tomé and Príncipe. He has also published chapters in three books and his research interests focus on the intersection between migration and climate change, as well as issues of gender and development.
