Customer Charter and Statement of Service

Our mission to provide a high-quality information service can only be achieved through partnerships between the Library and customers. Our Customer Charter and Statement of Service set out our commitment to our customers and how you can help us. The Customer Charter includes Library Terms and Condition for service use.

Your comments and suggestions are always welcome via the online feedback form.

The OU's SCONUL Access Policy defines the principles of SCONUL Access membership at the OU. It includes information on who is eligible, how they apply, and explains how we respond to infringements at host libraries.

For more information about SCONUL Access, please see Libraries Near You.

Donations Policy

To develop and promote high-quality electronic resources to support teaching, research and scholarship, this requires a managed decommitment to print collections.

Donations of print materials cannot, therefore, be accepted, except in exceptional cases, where a case will need to be made in writing to the Associate Director of Library Services (Academic and Student Services), endorsed by an Associate Dean of the Faculty concerned.

Electronically published OU research outputs should be deposited routinely within the Open Research Online (ORO) database.

We regret that Library Services is unable to return unsolicited donations. Unsolicited donations sent to Library Services will be disposed of.
