Walter Perry collection

Walton Hall - the original building that the OU Campus has grown around

The Walter Perry Collection contains papers relating to his work for the Open University as Vice Chancellor.

Lord Perry of Walton (1921-2003) was the first Vice-Chancellor of the Open University (1969-1979) and was greatly involved in the early years of the institution. In 1976 he wrote a book entitled 'Open University: A Personal Account by the First Vice-Chancellor'.
