Work Experience

If you are thinking about a career in science you may want to consider a work experience placement.

Work experience for school students

Student working in the lab

Please note that unfortunately we are unable to support short-term work experience for school-age children this academic year (until 31 July 2024).

Work experience for undergraduate students

Occasionally, we are able to host visiting undergraduate students to gain detailed research experience working alongside an academic on an identified research project. If you are interested in gaining some experience, please contact our administration team with the following details:

  • Name
  • University
  • Degree and current year of study
  • Dates available
  • Areas of interest
  • Current CV

We will circulate your details to the relevant academics in the School and will get back to you if a suitable project arises. Visiting student placements can be of any duration.

If you have any further queries about a work experience placement, please feel free to contact our administration team.
