Below are some groups you can join to motivate and encourage you to cycle.

Love to Ride

By logging your rides on the Love to Ride website, you get all the benefirs of riding your bike and go into the draw for some amazing prizes! Bike Month is celebrating of biking that aims to encourage and support you and your friends, family and community to get out and ride. 

Let's Ride

Like to get out on your bike more, but not sure where to start?  Ride with Let’s Ride Local.  British Cycling is running a series of free guided bike rides in the local area.

With Let’s Ride Local all the planning has been done for you. British Cycling have found the best routes, trained up Ride Leaders to guide and support you, and picked some cracking places to visit along the way. With three different levels, there’s something for everyone – whether you’re building your confidence or looking to stretch your legs on a cycling challenge.

So all you need to do is visit letsridelocal.co.uk , find a ride near you and book your free place. It couldn’t be simpler to get on your bike and ride.

Thames Valley Police – Bike security tagging

Thames Valley Police are offering staff the opportunity to get their bikes security marked. If you would like to get your bike(s) security marked go to the Thames Valley Police website and find your local police station who will be able to arrange a convenient time with you to security mark your bike (it takes approx. 5 mins).

For Nations & SRSCs colleagues if you contact your local police station they will be able to tell you how you can get this done.

Please note prices might vary from station to station.

Cycling to a rail station and carrying your bike on the train is a bit of a minefield, with each rail operator having different rules.

PlusBike is a free resource tool with all the information you need to plan your journey when you take the train. Download the free app and access information on facilities at the station including:

  • Cycle parking and facilities
  • Cycle hire schemes
  • Cycle carriage rules specific to your journey
  • Cycle carriage reservation details

Robert Hooke car park - partial closure

To the rear of the Robert Hooke building parking will be unavailable within this area, as per the photo below, whilst work on the generator outbuilding is carried out from 9th September for at least 4 weeks.
