The assembly and distribution of learning materials to students and Associate Lecturers is managed by LDS (Learner and Discovery Sciences) Storage and Distribution, based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. They also manage storage and assembly activities in support of University Archives, StELA (Student Experience Learning Adjustments), OUW (OU Worldwide), OUSA (OU Students Association, Marketing, Student Services and Disabled Students Services.
As at August 2020, there are more than £3 million worth of items in stock, made up of over 27,145 different product lines with more than 11 million separate items. Learning materials include main texts, USB sticks, DVDs, and CDs.
They liaise closely with faculty units and members of LDS to ensure that the right materials arrive at the right time in order to ensure our students have the best start to their OU learning experience.
There is on-site accessible car parking.
Unisex toilets with wheelchair access are available.
An assistive listening system is permanently installed in the Meeting Room(s).
Braille signage is available.
Seating is available for rest purposes.
There is level access from the car park.
