Walk Wheel Ride Challenge

All you need to know...

Walton Hall staff register at the Travel Advice stall on the 10th of July at the Travel Fayre (Mulberry Lawn, 11am-2pm), Nations & Locations register with your local contact on the 10th of July, if you have walked, wheeled or cycled to your workplace, will receive a free reflector, while stocks last.

To be entered into the prize draw, record all your walks, wheels, rides for the week (W/c 08/07/2024) and submit your steps/miles at the end of the week (12/07/24).

Church Parking

Please be aware three car share bays have been removed from the Church Parking, and been changed to two disabled spaces.

Within the next coming month the 3 car share signs will be removed.

Jennie Lee Bike Shed Closure

Effective From Monday 20th May 2024

Due to the construction work taking place in Jennie Lee Building and footpath being used as the delivery and waste away route, Estates have taken the decision to close the rear and side path to the Jennie Lee Building and the Jennie Lee Bike shelter. To segregate the movement of materials and pedestrians.

 

Date work commences: Monday 20th May

Date of completion: October 2024

 

Please find attached a site map detailing alternative bike shelters.

Welcome to the Easter edition of You Connected

Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to attend the House of Commons, Transport Committee where I was asked to provide an update on the progress of East West Rail (EWR). Speaking and taking questions alongside myself were representatives the Oxford-Cambridge Science Supercluster Board, England’s Economic Heartland and the Mayor of Bedford. I spoke about the potential EWR has to connect vital workforce hubs and boost the country’s economic competitiveness.

EV roadshow 3rd of April 2024 highlights

We extend our thanks to all who supported our EV roadshow event on April 3rd. The invaluable support from the Go Green team and the OU Club.

 

Attendees had the chance to experience test drives of electric vehicles, ensure the safety of their charging cables through PAT testing, and explore the benefits of Go Green and OU club merchandise.

 

For those who couldn't join us, we're delighted to announce that our EV retailers will be returning for our Travel Fayre in July, providing another opportunity to engage with sustainable transportation options.

Travel Survey 2024 - For OU Staff only

Since 1999, the University has had a Travel Plan, which seeks to widen the range of options available to staff to travel to and from work. This has included introducing our car share scheme, improving cycle parking and better bus services to the station.
